Resistance to Corrosion by Multiple Media: Stainless steel heat exchange tubes contain alloy elements such as chromium (Cr) and nickel (Ni). These elements enable a dense oxide film to form on the surface of the heat exchange tubes. This protective film can effectively resist various corrosive media both inside and outside the tubes. For example, in the chemical industry, stainless steel heat exchange tubes can exhibit good corrosion resistance against fluids containing corrosive components such as acidic solutions, alkaline solutions, and chloride ions, preventing the tubes from being eroded and thus prolonging their service life.
Good Resistance to Localized Corrosion: They not only have resistance to general corrosion but also possess excellent preventive capabilities against localized corrosion (such as pitting corrosion and crevice corrosion). For example, in environments with a large amount of salt, such as seawater, their special alloy compositions and surface film structures can prevent corrosive ions such as chloride ions from gathering in local areas and corroding the tubes, ensuring that the heat exchange tubes can work stably in complex and highly corrosive environments.
Good Thermal Conductivity
Efficient Heat Transfer: Although the thermal conductivity of stainless steel heat exchange tubes is lower than that of some materials such as copper, it still has relatively good thermal conductivity among numerous metallic materials. It can effectively transfer heat from one fluid to another, realizing an efficient heat exchange process in heat exchange equipment. For example, in the condensers and evaporators of air-conditioning systems, stainless steel heat exchange tubes can quickly transfer the heat of the refrigerant out or absorb the external heat, improving the heat exchange efficiency.
Uniform Temperature Distribution: Their good thermal conductivity can also make the temperature distribution on the surface and inside of the heat exchange tubes relatively uniform. This helps to avoid the problem of concentrated thermal stress caused by excessively high or low local temperatures, thereby reducing the risk of damage to the heat exchange tubes and enabling the entire heat exchange process to be carried out more stably and efficiently.
