Tempered (toughened) glass is 4-5 times stronger than annealed glass. When broken, it shatters into many small fragments which prevent major injuries. This type of glass is intended for glass facades, sliding doors, building entrances, bath and shower enclosures and other uses requiring superior strength and safety properties.
Features
1. The anti-impacting performance and anti-bending performance are 4-5 times higher than ordinary glass.
2. It breaks into granules in case of strongly knocked, so no hurt would be caused.
3. deflection angle of tempered glass is 3-4 times larger than that of float glass of the same thickness. When there is load on tempered glass, its maximum tensile stress does not located on the glass surface as float glass, but on the central point of glass sheet.
Applications
Tempered glass is safty glass, extensively applied in the places which has critical request of high mechenical strength and safety, such as glass door, curtain wall of building, indoor partition, elevator, showcase, door and window of building, furniture and household appliance etc.
