We have already booked our flights, and the purpose of our trip is to visit furniture manufacturers, showrooms, and suppliers to purchase furniture and materials for our house. Our goal is to complete the interior design before our trip, so we can arrive in China with a clear plan, detailed specifications, and a shopping list. What we need from an interior designer: We are looking for a complete interior design service for the entire house, not just a kitchen or individual furniture pieces. This should include: - Functional space planning and furniture layouts for every room - Furniture dimensions, storage solutions, and optimal use of space - Interior styling, colours, materials, and lighting - Realistic 3D visualizations of all rooms - Detailed furniture and material specifications - A complete shopping list that we can use when purchasing furniture in China Our preferred design process: This is particularly important to us. Stage 1 – Space planning and furniture layouts We would first like to focus entirely on functionality and furniture placement. The designer would prepare initial layouts based on our architectural plans, and we would review them together, discuss possible improvements, and make adjustments. We want to make sure that every room is practical, comfortable, and well planned. Only once we are completely satisfied with the layouts and have approved them would we move on to the next stage. Stage 2 – Interior design and 3D visualizations After finalizing the layouts, we would start working on the visual design, including furniture styles, materials, colours, lighting, and realistic 3D renderings. We already have a Pinterest inspiration board that we can share to explain our preferred style. Stage 3 – Final drawings and shopping list Once the design is approved, we would need detailed drawings, furniture dimensions, material specifications, and a shopping list. This is especially important because we plan to purchase furniture and materials from different manufacturers in China, so we need documentation that we can use independently when requesting quotations and placing orders. I would also like to ask you a few questions: 1. Do you provide all three stages of the design process described above? 2. Could you share your portfolio of previous residential projects, preferably including floor plans and 3D renderings? We would like to see your design style and quality of work. 3. Do you have experience designing homes for European clients? 4. How does your design process normally work? Would we communicate directly with the interior designer and have an initial video consultation? 5. How many rounds of revisions are included? Especially during the furniture layout stage, we would like to make adjustments until the layouts are fully approved before starting the 3D design. 6. What exactly is included in your design fee? Does it cover all rooms, 3D renderings, detailed drawings, material specifications, and the complete shopping list? 7. Would we receive all the final drawings and design files, even if we purchase furniture from other suppliers? 8. How long would the complete design process take?
