I am Quinton, An Independent Interior Designer & 3D Visualizer. How I discovered design was through my admiration for cars and specifically the details within the interior, each detail in materials, fabrics, lighting... I mean the list goes on and I would look at a 2D Technical drawing from an architect who was designing our dream home, followed him through his work for a short time and even though it was short lived his teachings played the biggest part of me finding my path in design and thus taking me to a Design College named Greenside Design Centre (GDC). When I had found this college, I went in for an interview and during the interview I was told, that I could branch out into various disciplines within interior design so even car design applied. I smiled from ear to ear and after the interview, the good news I had received is Congratulations Quinton, have been accepted. In my years of being at Greenside, the experience of art and expression to develop one’s craft and skill to initially find out what specifically does one really want to choose as a passion for his career. My journey into interior design started in 2015 and along the way I had started working while attending college, this had showed me that I really have a Love designing and creating and building and what my passion is, is creating a 3D Visual from start to finish through it all i had learned rendering software and 2D software that can help further and build a business one day for myself. overall success, 2019 was when I graduated from Greenside. Life after college was exciting because I am out in the real world, what was learned through working in an architecture firm and other firms later gave me the experience one would need along with the knowledge and skills learnt to present a fully finished project. Think again everything taught in every work place is different, methods of teachings fade away and only apply here and there, most importantly how to use each software to the fullest. As a designer one’s skill must be grown every time, putting yourself into what you passionate about and putting it out there. Working with other interior decorators that need 3D conceptual design, needed my service and that is what I had been wanting to do and with the lack of hardware and software upgrades I could not perform at the level I could and I gave my time, every time another task was given. More opportunities kept rising and I was up to the task. An interior Design company in Cape town got my number, through me just giving out business cards at retail stores that deal with furniture, they had got in touch. Another company had approached me with a project and they had loved my portfolio that I had sent through. I have had my fair ups and downs of not being paid for my time and being rejected for various reasons. So as truthful as this sounds "Rejection is the cure to becoming better" noticing that it is something that I had to do because if I do not share what I do how will I know when I am good at something. It is the constant development through engaging with people learning what people like, dislike and further more engaging on a level where I can deliver a service that is paid for through my skilled craft in 3D Conceptual Design & 3D Visualization.
