In the world of luxury hospitality, creating a truly immersive and authentic guest experience is paramount. At Kalpasara Studio, we specialize in crafting bespoke hotel and resort destinations that celebrate the unique cultural tapestry of Nepal, weaving together tradition and innovation to create unforgettable journeys.
My journey in architecture and interior design, fortified by specialized training from Cornell University in hotel planning and design, has been driven by a passion for contextual design. For over two decades, I’ve honed a philosophy that prioritizes the integration of local skills, materials, and artistic traditions to create distinctive brand identities and immersive guest experiences.
This philosophy is exemplified in our work on Meghauli Serai – A Taj Safari, owned and operated by CG Holdings. For this notable resort project, located in the heart of Meghauli, we focused on interior and dcor works, seamlessly integrating the rich cultural heritage of the local Tharu village. By drawing inspiration from the surrounding environment and prioritizing the guest experience, we helped create a destination that has garnered international acclaim. Meghauli Serai’s recognition as a finalist in the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2025, a finalist for “Eco-Hotel of the Year” at the Destination Deluxe Awards 2021, and its inclusion in Travel & Leisure’s Best New Hotels of 2017 underscores our ability to create award-winning, culturally resonant spaces.

We believe that every hotel and resort has a unique story to tell, and we are dedicated to bringing those stories to life through thoughtful design. By collaborating with local artisans, craftspeople, and cultural experts, we ensure that every element of our designs reflects the authentic spirit of Nepal. From the selection of indigenous materials to the incorporation of traditional motifs, we create spaces that are both visually stunning and deeply meaningful.
Our commitment to excellence is further evidenced by our numerous accolades, including the prestigious SONA Award for Best Interior Architecture Company in 2023 and the 1st Runner-Up position in the National Design Competition for the Institute Building, organized by the Society of Nepalese Architects. Furthermore, our project was recently exhibited at the Asian Contemporary Architecture Exhibition 2024 in Bangkok, Thailand, nominated as one of the best designs emphasizing contextual design, demonstrating our ability to create globally recognized, culturally resonant spaces.
