I’m Manuel A. Almojera of Bacnotan, La Union a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a licensed architect. I specialize in designing/planning residential dwellings from low rise to medium rise, and commercial buildings of any usage or functions as well as other type of structures. Job Description (Architect) 1. Pre- Design Services 1.1 Economic Feasibility study – A preliminary study undertaken to assess whether a proposed project is likely to be practical and successful and to estimate its cost. 1.2 Architectural Programming – future needs studies; document needs of the client. 1.3 Site Selection and analysis- locating the sites. 1.4 Site Utilization and Land Use Studies – proper utilization of land. 1.5 Space Management Studies - space requirements based on organizational structures. 1.6 Project Financing – Assist in the determination of the requirement of lending agencies. 1.7 Promotional Services –to generate financial support. ** The Architect can only do Architectural Programming and Space Management, other activities require consultants. 2. Design Services (Architect Regular Service) 2.1 Schematic Design Phase -the Architect consult to the Owner with regards to the project and he prepares schematic design for approval. 2.2 Design Development Phase – the Architect prepares a 2D or 3D presentations of the propose project. ***Depending upon the complexity of project the Architect may needs the help of professional such as Civil Engineers, Electrical Engineer, Auto-CAD Operator and other experts in their respective field. 2.3 Contract Document Phase – preparation of contract documents for signing. 2.4 Construction Phase – the Architect scope of work includes quality control of work or inspection. Evaluation and construction work, record, reports and contract documents keeping. 2.4.1 Architect as Full time Supervisor –he is not required making continuous eight (8) hours supervision but only periodic milestone supervision. 2.4.2 Architect as Full-time Construction Manager- when the Architect is under the construction supervision group he normally functions as Coordinator and Supervisor. Cost and Time control, quality control of work and keeping of records, but he has no legal responsibility. 3. Specialized Allied Services-Architectural services concentrated to a certain task like as follows: 3.1 Interior Design – design of furniture and arrangement, special fittings, built -in equipment and interior finishes. 3.2 Landscape Design – Includes ground modeling plan, planting layout, needed utility line, schedule of plant and planting elements. Auto-CAD Operator: The Architect can perform 2 Dimensional drawing presentations (2D). The Architectural Plan, the Section and Elevation and the detailed drawings using Auto-CAD. Draftsman: The Architect can work as a Draftsman be it mechanical drawing or manual drawing, Architectural, Structural, Electrical, or any kind of drawings.
