BAM Designs

BAM Designs Architects is an Architectural firm that started its operations 2021, with offices
in Lilongwe. BAM Designs are registered with the National Constructional Industry Council
of Malawi (NCIC) as Consulting Architects and are also registered with all other relevant
authorities in Malawi. Under this submission BAM Designs will be Team Leader for all the
architectural, design and supervision work and will coordinate all the activities to be
performed under this assignment. This submission will be delivered under our Lilongwe
Office, BAM Designs. We have a full qualified Architect to be dedicated as Team Leader
for the project.
BAM Designs Architects are a growing, vibrant practice with an emphasis on quality design,
efficient project delivery and careful cost control. We are dedicated to maintaining open
communication between client and architect to achieve an end product that meets the
requirements of the client and the building’s end users. At BAM Designs Architects we aim
to provide an inclusive service that assesses current user patterns, individual use
requirements and the client’s vision to provide the optimum design solution for every
project undertaken.
BAM Designs Architects as a company has 4 years’ experience with its Team Leader, Brian
Mwenelupembe, who has over 15 years’ experience in the design and supervision of
different types of buildings in Malawi and Ireland. Our Team of qualified Architects will
produce elegant, inventive and practical design solutions for all your architectural
projects.
BAM Designs can produce an innovative design that suits your taste and lifestyle. We use
CAD and 3D software (AutoCAD, Revit, ArchCAD and Sketch Up). We are sensitive to our
client’s needs, aiming to create the most cost-effective outcome in accordance with the
brief and budget. Lastly, with our experience, you can always rest assured of receiving
quality Architectural Services when it comes to architectural designs.
PRINCIPAL ARCHITECT BRIAN MWENELUPEMBE BArch, MSc, Post Grad Arch Practice MIA,
RIBA, RIAI
The Principal Architect/ Managing Director of BAM Designs Architects is Brian
Mwenelupembe, Dip Arch Tech, BArch, MSc, Post Grad Arch Practice MIA, MRIAI, RIBA
have over 15 years working as an Architect in Architectural Offices in Malawi and Ireland.
Brian is a Chartered Architect, registered with the Malawi Institute of Architects, (MIA) Royal
Institute of British Architects, (RIBA), and Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI).
Brian has vast architectural work experience. Brian graduated with a degree in
Architecture from the University of Malawi and did his Professional Diploma in Architectural
Practice in TU Dublin, Ireland.
DIRECTOR - ROBERT NGALANDE, REGISTERED ARCHITECTURAL TECHNICIAN, MIA
Robert is Associate Director of BAM Designs Architects. Prior to joining the Practice, Robert
worked for SOS Children’s Villages Malawi as a Clerk of Works / Senior Architectural
Technologist. Prior to that he worked for IM Designs (Chartered Architects) as an
Architectural Technician. His main duties were to develop building concepts, producing
architectural drawings and conducting building site inspections. He has over Twenty-six
years’ experience in Architectural design and Building construction and maintenance.
Over the years Robert has worked on several housing projects and commercial projects.
He has vast experience in the supervision of building projects on construction sites as well
as designing architectural projects.
Robert is registered with MIA as a registered Architectural Technician. Robert has a Diploma
in Architectural Technology from the University of Malawi; Certificate in Solar and Wind
Energy Technologies – Mzuzu University; Technician Certificate in Electrical Engineering -
City and Guilds; Diploma in Marketing Management (MIM); and Supervisory Skills certificate
of attendance (NCIC).

As a registered architectural practice with the NCIC, as Consulting Architects, BAM Designs
Architects provides a wide range of professional architectural services. We are dedicated
to maintaining open communication between client and architect to provide a service
that meets the requirements of the client. Our design work ranges from kitchen extensions
to large commercial projects. Our experience in the design and delivery of buildings draws
on our deep involvement over the years in major designs.
Our services encompass all that is required to design and procure a project, from sketch
designs at the inception of a project, through statutory approvals (where required) to
tendering, construction site supervision and completion. We are happy to speak to any
new clients with a view to providing advice and detailed fee proposals for all types and
scales of project.
