The fourth China International Import Expo (CIIE), scheduled to take place from November 5 to 10 in Shanghai, is expected to see participation from more Fortune 500 companies and corporate giants than the previous edition, organizers said Monday to mark the 100-day countdown to the event.
The number of leading companies that signed up for the fourth CIIE already exceeded the third expo, with many of the firms taking part in the expo for a second or third time. The fourth expo will also see participation from more than 30 leading enterprises for the first time, said Sun Chenghai, deputy director of the CIIE Bureau.
Some 360,000 square meters of the exhibition area have been booked, meeting the expected target, Sun said, adding that more than 50 countries have also confirmed participation in the expo.
The forum will be carried out revolving around topics such as global governance, climate change and trade, and digital economy.
This grand gathering is set to cover a business exhibition, a country exhibition, the Hongqiao International Economic Forum and a pack of activities.
The business exhibition will still be divided into six sections to display food and agricultural products, automobiles, technical equipment, consumer goods, medical devices and healthcare products, as well as trade in services, Sun said.
The country exhibition will allow countries to display their national image and present their trade and investment advantages on the official website of the CIIE through virtual reality and 3D modeling technologies.
"This year's Hongqiao International Economic Forum will be centered on global economic cooperation and will include a main forum and several subforums," according to CIIE's statement on its official website.
Sun also said that stringent epidemic prevention and control measures will be put in place to guard against infection risks.
