CIIE: Event to feature public health, epidemic prevention

Coordinators of the China International Import Expo have announced changes ahead of this year's event, in light of the virus pandemic. November's expo will feature a public health and epidemic prevention exhibition area. Leading pharmaceutical firms have signed up for the CIIE. More than 60 Fortune 5-hundred medical care companies will be part of the event, as it marks its third year. The Medical and Healthcare Products Exhibition Hall is set to be a highlight of the expo. 

ZHANG LEI Vice President of Communications, Bayer (China) Limited "Bayer will double its exhibition area this year and exhibit in the public health and epidemic prevention area, including anti-bacterial medicine, OCT medicine to strengthen immune systems, pain relievers, and diagnostic imaging systems. China is the first country to control the pandemic spreading and sets a good example for the world in fighting the virus."

ZHU BING  Vice President, PerkinElmer Management (Shanghai) Great China Sales and Service "All our exhibitions in this area are closely related to epidemic prevention in three categories, including infectious disease detecting and testing, medicine and immune body researching and developing, and analyzing equipment."

CHEN YUGANG  President, Fresenius Medical Care (Shanghai) China "The expo shows the latest equipment and technology to the whole industry and boosts the imports and applications to Chinese patients. This equipment and these supplies are tailored for Chinese people and their conditions. We already set up a factory in Jiangsu province, and we're planning to build dialysis centers and hospitals in China in the long run."
