Project Background
The project forms part of a newly built residential development comprising ten apartment blocks. Circulation routes have been carefully planned to provide convenient access to and from each block, as well as smooth connections to the shared public spaces.
Floor Plan
From the main entrance, a meandering “Cloud Path” unfolds, paved in grey stone arranged as abstract cloud patterns. The route mimics drifting clouds, narrowing and widening rhythmically. Three “Cloud Vortex” nodes punctuate the journey: a rippling water feature suggesting rising vapour; a sunken lawn amphitheatre with curved seating for gatherings; and a children’s play area with colourful rubber surfacing shaped like cartoon clouds.
Project Aerial View
a 25,000-square-metre courtyard is reimagined as a three-dimensional painting inspired by the Chinese xiangyun motif. The design translates “cloud-borne blessings and harmony between heaven and man” into a modern landscape. Winding paths, water features, and planting islands echo drifting cloud trails, inviting residents to stroll through the clouds as they return home. This space blends rest, social interaction, and ecology into a narrative of auspiciousness and belonging.
Renderings (Except Aerial View)
Plants follow the cloud idea: round-top trees (pagoda tree, osmanthus) form “Cloud Crowns”; wave-shaped shrubs look like rolling clouds; white gravel and purple-blue flowers make a “Sea of Clouds.” An old pagoda tree is kept, with seats around it showing cloud patterns from different times, linking past and present. Rain gardens and a smart watering system collect and clean rainwater for the Cloud Lake, finishing a natural cycle from sky to ground.
