When the owners met with Evans, they talked about a boy in the family who was over 2 years old, and he was in the stage of learning to imitate. For the growth of children, the owner hopes that the living room can create an atmosphere of parent-child interaction. Through the habit of parents' reading, children can develop the habit of independent learning under the influence of their own eyes and ears.

In order to make the living room more open and comfortable, Evans dismantled the wall of the original living room, and the new wall was set back 35cm in the direction of the multi-functional room. The freed space was placed with a row of bookcases in the form of laminates, which could not only place books, but also Place interesting ornaments.

Considering the child's lively and lovely nature, Evans specially customized a 2-meter-long multifunctional coffee table for him in the living room. The end of the coffee table by the window is designed with a chair fixed on the coffee table. The chair can be rotated 360 degrees. . When the parents were sitting on the sofa reading, the child's little hand held a cute little picture book and sat cross-legged on the little chair.

Evans removed the partition of the living room balcony, and as soon as you enter the door, you can look directly at the outdoors from the dining room, without any obstruction, the space is fully utilized, and the space is visually enlarged. The restaurant has not done too many complicated shapes in the design, and a simple hanging picture adds color to the space.

There was a gap between the original balcony and the living room. Evans removed the wall so that there was no gap between the dining room, the living room and the balcony. The first impression of entering the door was that the space seemed to be larger. The balcony continues to retain its function, with custom-made potted plants, creating a relaxing atmosphere on a summer afternoon.

The dining table in the living room is specially customized, combining the functions of daily dining and water bar. The lifting socket is hidden at the bottom of the bar and can be sensed by hand.

The special feature of the restaurant is the large sliding door of 3 meters by 3 meters. The mirror surface on the sliding door can directly reflect the outdoor river view, and it is like being on the riverside when dining. In the process of moving the door, the outdoor river scene also changes, floating light and gold, quiet shadow sinking, like a constantly changing river scene.

The multi-functional room integrates the three functions of study/guest room/parent-child activities. Evans designed two oversized revolving doors for this space. When the revolving door is opened, the room and the corridor form a large space. When the revolving door is closed, the room It is an independent and private space. The space between opening and closing makes the space more interesting and flexible, and also makes the whole house full of sunlight.

In the early communication, the owner told Evans that the child still has to have his own private space when he grows up, but now he is only 2 years old and cannot sleep independently, so this room is currently mainly used for receiving guests and playing with a family of three. So, Evans set up a desk and kept the original window sill, so he can sit on the window sill and watch the river view in his leisure time.
