Project Background
This project is the interior design of a large flat private residence. The owner pursues a living space that combines modern texture with oriental elegance. The design aims to break the single reception function of a conventional living room, integrating multi-functional needs including leisure, tea tasting and display, to create a calm, restrained and layered home environment.
Floor Plan
This project is the interior design of a large flat private residence. The owner pursues a living space that combines modern texture with oriental elegance. The design aims to break the single reception function of a conventional living room, integrating multi-functional needs including leisure, tea tasting and display, to create a calm, restrained and layered home environment. The original flat features an open layout and good natural light, yet suffers from blurred functional zoning, with no dedicated zone for tea gatherings and collection display. Taking modern minimalism as the foundation, the design incorporates freehand aesthetics of the new Chinese style. Dark woodwork, leather, marble and other materials are adopted, with a linear ceiling lighting system (no main light) to set the ambient tone. Floor-to-ceiling display cabinets are used to partition the space, serving the purposes of book storage, ornament exhibition and tea table function. The living room reception area is naturally connected with the tea room. The overall design abandons cumbersome decorations. Space atmosphere is shaped by material textures and layered lighting. While meeting daily family living requirements, it also delivers a sense of ritual for receiving guests and tea appreciation. The design achieves a balance between modern lifestyle and tranquil oriental charm, creating a low-key, high-end and relaxed urban private residence.
