Project Background
The project of the residential building Imperador is located in Porto Alegre, a city of around 1.5 million inhabitants, situated in the south of Brazil. The project was conceived to be unique in the region: the building plot is located in a mostly residential neighborhood and faces 03 streets, with an area of 3500,00 sq. m., taking up practically half a block.The architectural concept consists of a single tower which maximizes sunlight in the units.
Scheme Design
The 18-floor-building consists of one residential unit per floor, with an area of 350,00 sq. m. The units have a spacious living of more than 150,00 sq. m. of area and 04 roomy en-suite bedrooms, the main one having an area of 60.00 sqm.

The challenge of the project was to seek and employ innovative construction systems with the objective of maximizing working time on site, reduce costs and generate less waste. The system of pre-stressed concrete slab was chosen in order to provide more flexibility in the internal layout of the units and increase their free span. The facades were built with building shell system,which were covered with the ceramic tiles and the granite panels outside the building site.
Project Photos (Design Landed)
The main corner is characterized by a rounded balcony allowing stunning views of the city. All the facades were clad with granite and shades of green which are in harmony with the ceramic tiles displayed in specific places, thus providing a visual unit to the external finishing. In the entrance Hall a double height ceiling creates a grand entry in a room where the floor and walls are coated with marble and granite in a design that makes up the space and suits the grandeur of the construction.
