Project Background
The headquarters of Suzhou National Square Automotive Electronics Co., Ltd. is located in the Xiangcheng Economic Development Zone of Suzhou City. As the office and R&D building of a manufacturing company, it is tasked with the mission of highlighting the individual identity of the company's characteristics and culture. The building consists of a cube and a cylinder, with a total of 9 floors

The unity and contrast between the extensively glazed faade and the surrounding buildings underline the building's dominant position within the group.
The key to the overall idea of the design is how to reflect the cooperative, integrated nature of the area and the waves stirred up by the presence of this enterprise Based on the general context, the designer focused on expressing ideas regarding faade, spatial composition, geometric elements, more profound meaning, urban relationships, etc.

The design uses a large number of glass curtain walls on the external surfaces of the building, with the public areas of the main building and the research and development areas distinguished by different materials on the facade, while the secondary building uses all-glass curtain walls to open up the public landscape areas and enhance the natural attributes of the building.

The design scheme attempts to make a breakthrough in the internal and external relationship between the factory campus and the urban interface while portraying the sense of volume and facade of the building as distinct from the factory.
Low-rise factories and single-coloured facades mainly characterize the area where the building is located, lacking a modern industrial atmosphere. In order to highlight the high-tech corporate image of Suzhou National Square Automotive Electronics Co., Ltd., the office and R&D building have been created with the help of glass curtain walls and geometric elements to create a unique regional style with a three-dimensional and graphic sense.

In contrast to the traditional square atrium, the building's atrium space is made up of several irregular circles in a staggered pattern. The atrium brings natural light into the circles on each floor, providing a sense of natural comfort. The sense of comfort leads people to gather in the atrium, allowing them to interact with each other in an open space.
The designer wanted the 'circle' of the atrium to contrast with the square shape of the building as a whole to continue reconciling the 'square' and the 'circle'. Looking up at the atrium from within the building, the harmonization of "yin" and "yang" is a compelling concept.
The concept of "harmony between square and circle" is not only expressed in the aesthetic expression of the exterior but is also deepened in the vertical sustainability dimension. Geometric elements such as squares, circles and smooth curves provide thermal insulation and ventilation in summer, heat preservation and energy saving in winter and natural light entering different floors.
