Project Background
The ModernPunta Lago Homestady Hotel Design
Hotel Punta Lago is a 4-star country-style establishment located on the shores of Lake Yguaz in eastern Paraguay. Founded to revitalize an area affected by internal migration, it uses local labor and materials from construction through operations. This initiative fosters community integration, creates jobs, and provides vocational training to deliver top-tier service to domestic and international visitors, particularly from the Triple Frontier region.
To this end, the decision was made to develop the project in five blocks: three for guest rooms and hotel services, one for staff accommodation, and a technical block.
Two dedicated guest blocks, each accommodating up to eight guests and divided into two en-suite rooms, designed to cater to tourist groups.
The main block comprises a kitchen, storage room, dining area, barbecue area, swimming pool with relaxation areas, a guest bathroom, and a service area featuring a traditional *tatakua* clay oven—all on the ground floor.
The upper floor consists of four en-suite bedrooms, each accommodating at least three guests; one of them also includes a kitchenette. All offer panoramic views, and two also feature a terrace. Finally, there is the administration block—containing a shared bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and service area—and the technical block, designed solely to house water tanks, pumps, and filters.
